Unless branded with dbs in some programming credit; what you own is yours! Cables coax; fiber; cat5e; pbx intercom; etc. is the most important thing in your home that you own! The cable is one thing that has only a typed warranty of a home. All electrical standards are not just needed; each are required. MADE FOR THE MULTI-SIZES of connectors; as are the tools and their connectors; for each kind and size. There are good old crimp type (rg-59/rg-6) Radio Shack made popular with easy low cost. As long as the wire has not oxidized or been in wet air for any long period of time; or a special water/oxidation reduction grease is used does any connector last for longer than 5 years (this is the debate). For interior (gold/silver/chrome) type connection between two surfaces that "magneti" or otherwise directly contact with style, or have LV requirement's; the cable and connections mean everything.
