Satellite Dish FTA Switch page:
Basic 22 khz. encoda - many switches, and universal lnbf have 22 khz. built-in for selecting multi-lnbf, or a second satellite 4x4 is 22 khz. driven
Basic - DISEqC use - one diseq switch per receiver are used to plug directly into directly to single's of each of the types of lnbf's; or to 22 khz. sw; or in 1.1; to 1.0 diseq sw
diseq 1.0
1x2 GEOSATpro brand DISEq 1.0 SW = 1 receiver x 2 lnbf or 22 khz. sw x 2 lnbf's = 4 lnbf's
1x4 GEOSATpro brand DISEq 1.0 SW = 1 receiver x 4 lnbf or 22 khz. sw x 2 lnbf's = 8 lnbf's
diseq 1.1 - can be hooked directly to other switches
1x8 GEOSATpro brand DISEq 1.1 SW = 1 receiver x 8 lnbf or 22 khz. sw x 2 lnbf's = 16 lnbf OR 2nd diseq 1.0 sw X 2 or 4; = 8x2 = 16 or 8x4=32 LNBf's
1x16 GEOSATpro brand DISEq 1.1 SW = 1 receiver x 16 lnbf or 22 khz. sw x 2 lnbf's = 32 lnbf's OR 2nd diseq 1.0 sw X 2 or 4; = 16x2 = 32 or 16x4=64 LNBf's
sw selected (controlled) by DVB-S or S2 receiver; receiver must be able to control these switches; older receivers can only control 22 khz. switches; the avail. resources of your chipset determine today which switches can be used; the newest GEOSATpro receivers 1200/3500 use these type chipset's
2x4 Multi-switch for one satellite reception
2x4 ONLY for dual/twin standard or international (22 khz) lnbf
Selection of the switch is dependent on how many lnbf's; type of lnbf's; and switching system desired or required to allow menu selection of the switch used; configurization; or multi-satellite dish selector or multi-typed Invacom LNBf or universal typed or dishpro stacked or directv switchen; a very important factor when it comes to your installation. Each switch is designed for use with the lnbf type matching receiver and signals received; and up to 16 lnbf singles of any type using one receiver can be arrayed this way on many satellite dishes; including dbs types. Each type and brand makes up the very real details of Satellite TV reception so pay attention. Cables are not included!
The many dishes at your home; the other types you need must only hook to the fta receiver after installing all 16 satellite dish lnbfs planned for each channel you then receive. You need all 16 lnbfs on one ku band satellite dish statically mounted to receive all 16 satelites from one spot on earth. Trying just 8 is a challenge, believe me.
If you want a certain type of pay receiver (today's directv or dish network) to work with a switch, they normally need only one type; and if you want their equipment; only supply one brand, their own.
H/V SW
Horizontal, Vertical, Left Cir., Right Cir.; are all selections of an 18/14 SW built into the word, or device that is; a lnbf. 18 vdc at the lnbf, and it selects the horizontal or left block of frequencies it can tune. 14 vdc at the lnbf, and it selects the vertical or right block of frequencies it can tune (where the lnbf is receiving from a satellite dishes aiming). LNBf's all have a H/V SW built-in.
Really, a dual/twin lnbf is 2 lnbf's; but only on one satellite. Two receivers hook directly to this lnbf; no sw needed. Over 2 receivers in system; then a 2x4 is required.
A 2x4 switch locks the 2 lnbf's in a twin/dual h/v to both polarities received; switched by 4 receiver's. 2x4 SW means hooks to dual (twin) lnbf for 1 satellite all polarities for up to 4 receivers.
3x4 SW means dual (twin) standard lnbf and local antenna with 4 diplexers for 4 hdtv satellite receivers and 4 different HDTV's then watch satellite and local ATSC channel's. This is the one satellite dish solution for FCC, plus 4 different channel's SW used since 1992; and 200 channel's or more available from each receiver gives every channel to each hdtv like cable tv.
old directv/perfectvision/etc. 6x8 SW (directv or fta) means hooks to 2 dual standard lnbfs (22khz on/off) and is used by fta pansat/coolsat for 2 satellite reception or more; and can be used with 2 bandstacked lnbfs for up to 8 receivers reception of all "five hundred to multi-thousands" satellite channels; used since 1998. NEW DIRECTV SWIMx5 MEANS Bandstacked 99x101x103x110x119 selectable SW with 5 satellite locations within the feeds design; and any tp selected of the two stacked satellites received is into a bandwidth of frequencies plus the new feed sw 101/103/99 sd/hd stack is sent to each receiver with node or switch. The network node in addition for transceiver duplex of their cables (like a cable company does) for a home or business using their Genie receivers.
4x4 SW means (2) dual lnbf's for 2 satellite reception -> this switch accepts 22 khz. to activate; and no 22 khz to go back to default; both dual lnbf's must be standard (18vdc/14vdc).
5x4 SW means dual satellite/ dual lnbf's /and local antenna input (5) w/ diplexers for (4)4 tv's
22 khz. also means Universal - built-into a lnbf for 2 different bands of freq. using the same lnbf (International or Standard North American). These lnbf's cannot be hooked to 22 khz. switches external to the lnbf because they have one built-in to themselves. They can be used with the diseq switches, however; and Hybrid North American satellites in space have these required to receive "all" frequencies.
diseq 1.0/1.1 switches, in general form have the ability to be multiplied by using a 22 khz. switch; to select 2 standard lnbf's for each input (or in 1.1 to select other different 1.0 sw's.
DISEq 1.2/3 Control Motor's - These products are mostly today made for KU Band dishes; and 1.2 means many switch commands (say 50) are used within the command set that programs, or sets the motor to move to exactly programmed 50 different named satellites in space (aims).
The numbers diseq #0-50 are the numbers assignable as a command set (grouping of the numbers used) for memorizing these positions and names and the number points to each named and channeled/scanned/satellite. This allows FTA owners many extra channels from many extra satellite locations programmed by the receiver and memorized as the channels received.
USALS is diseq 1.3 command set; which stands for "universal satellite aquisition location services". It is used with the math-processor of a satellite receiver to calculate and move a motor to a exactly defined point in it's memory by math only. This calculated point is then a real satellite signal also; using the correct position of the dish/mount/motor/pole assembly point on the globe of earth (GPS spot) latitude and longitude; AND THE elevation each LINE id is THAT POINTS TO THE SATELLITE SIGNAL IS MOVED TO PERFECTLY EVERY TIME! This makes the installed dish requirement of perfection in aiming; as the dish/lnbf combo must match the formula USALS makes for the dish. The dish mount points due south; just like it should; perfectly (small adjustment areas). The dishes elevation setting (small adjustment areas); the mounts elevation setting (small adjustment areas); both perfect (when it works with USALS) to track the "USALS" arc. Entry of the dishes LAT/LONG is to 1 decimal (that means it will move to each .1 - 1 degree in the arc).
